Our granite is a warm colour but i wanted the grout to compliment the white tiles with a hint of grey so the granite was the star. The grey blends seamlessly. Use a non sanded grout to protect both the marble and the grout from discoloring too much. The white was too stark for my taste. As in this kitchen below when paired with a darker tile light grout picks up the colors of the natural stone countertops and backsplashes creating a cohesive and beautiful look. White subway tiles are clean simple and classic but this design twist using dark gray grout transforms the look and feel of the space highlighting the tile layout.

There are even grout stains so you can change the color if you change your mind. Had i been able to do white with white i would have loved the look you chose. I went with a light grey. Grout for subway tile might seem like a simple choice but there is more to consider than you might imagine.

Now there are endless colors even metallic and glitter are available. I had wanted white cabinets with white subway tile but my cabinets ended up having a yellow undertone so i went with a light gray subway tile and yes the grout decision took a while but ultimately i matched the grout with the tile for a seamless look. In the bathtub i continued with the same light grey grout with white subway tile. This probably won t be the popular opinion but we did white grout with our white subway tile.

Until the 1980s there were only two choices when it came to grout. Contrasting grout color would help to make the floor design such as geometric tile layouts and patterns stand out. We re clean cooks so we decided not to seal the grout based on some advice we got here on gw as well as other research. If you want a more contemporary take using classic white subway tiles gray grout is the answer.

I do love the slight contrast but would have been happy with white white too.
